‘캉스아카이브(Kang’s Archive)’는 작가 강우현이 일상에서 마주한 생각과 감정을 기록하고 이를 작품으로 풀어내는 전시 프로젝트다. 일상의 아이디어, 음악에서 떠오른 색과 모양, 책 속 문장, 기억하고 싶은 장면 등 개인적인 사유의 조각들을 색과 선의 언어로 표현한다. 특정한 주제를 정해 구성하기보다, 살아온 기록을 쌓아가는 행위 자체에 전시의 의미를 담아 이름은 ‘캉스아카이브(Kang’s Archive)’로 통일한다. 이번 전시 ‘캉스아카이브 2025(Kang’s Archive 2025)’는 작가가 2025년 전시를 준비하며 경험한 다양한 것들을 회화의 형태로 선보인다. 지난 2022년 진행한 첫 번째 개인전에서는 아이패드로 작업한 디지털 드로잉을 선보였다면, 이번 전시에서는 유화 작업을 중심으로 작품을 구성했다. 작품은 크게 ‘일상’ ‘음악’ 책’ 세 가지의 주제 아래에서 작가가 경험한 삶의 파편들을 시각적 형태로 기록한다. 특히 이번 전시에서는 개인의 기록을 넘어 다양한 창작자들과의 협업을 통해 작품의 폭을 확장하며 다채로운 경험을 제공할 계획이다. 성우와 배우를 준비 중인 청년들, 작가와 작곡가 지망생 등 작가 주변에서 창작에 몰두하고 있는 이들과 함께 영감을 주고 받으며 새로운 작업을 시도했다. 소설과 그림이 어우러진 작품, 목소리와 시각 예술을 결합한 결과물 등 다양한 형태로 관람객에게 새로운 예술적 경험을 제안한다. “Kang’s Archive” is an ongoing exhibition project in which the artist, Kang Woohyun, records the thoughts and emotions he encounters in daily life and translates them into visual works. Ideas from everyday moments, colors and shapes inspired by music, lines from books, and scenes he wishes to remember—these fragments of personal reflection are expressed through the language of color and line. Rather than organizing the exhibition around a fixed theme, the act of accumulating records of lived experience is itself the core of the project. For this reason, all exhibitions share the unified title “Kang’s Archive.” “Kang’s Archive 2025” presents a collection of paintings shaped by the artist’s experiences while preparing for his 2025 exhibition. While his first solo exhibition in 2022 centered on digital drawings created on an iPad, this exhibition focuses primarily on oil painting. The works capture fragments of the artist’s life across three broad areas—“Everyday Life,” “Music,” and “Books”—each translated into a visual form. This exhibition also extends beyond personal record-keeping, offering a wider artistic spectrum through collaborations with various young creators. Emerging voice actors, actors-in-training, writers, and aspiring composers—individuals deeply immersed in their own practices—joined the artist in exchanging inspiration and developing new work. The result includes pieces that blend illustration with narrative, as well as works that combine voice and visual art, inviting viewers to experience a range of new artistic forms.
